SALISBURY STEAK 
2 tbsp. salad oil
3 med. onions, sliced
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 3/4 c. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt

In skillet over medium heat, cook onion 2 minutes in salad oil, stirring occasionally. Add soy sauce, sugar and 1 1/2 cups water, heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

In cup, stir cornstarch, 1/4 cup water, until blended; stir into onion mixture, cook until thick.

Meanwhile, mix ground beef and salt. Shape into 4 patties. Broil 4 minutes on each side.

Serve with rice. Spoon sauce over meat and rice.
