MOLASSES COOKIE DOLLS 
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 egg, beaten
2/3 c. molasses or sorghum
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Mix molasses with brown sugar, egg and shortening and add dry ingredients to make a soft dough. Wrap in waxed paper and chill one hour. Roll out 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board and cut with floured cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees F. about 12 minutes.
