PLAIN FUDGE 
2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
2 tbsp. Karo
2/3 c. milk

Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then put on low heat. Place a cover on pan for about 2 minutes to keep it from crystalizing. Boil and bring to a soft ball stage. Without stirring, remove from fire. Drop in 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla (don't stir until lukewarm). Beat until it begins to lose its shiny look, pour onto platter, cut when cool.
