TOLL HOUSE CUPCAKES 
1/2 c. softened butter
6 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. white sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine and beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Beat in egg. Sift together dry ingredients and mix with sugar mixture. Spoon into paper-lined muffin pans. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Take out immediately.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

While cupcakes are baking, beat first 3 ingredients of topping until thick. Add remaining ingredients. Spoon over each cupcake. Bake 15 minutes more. Makes 1 dozen.
