SPRITZ 
1 1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Colored sugar

Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract; beat well. Sift together flour and baking powder; add gradually to creamed mixture, mixing to a smooth dough. Do not chill.

Force dough through cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) about 7 to 8 minutes. Cool. Makes about 5 dozen.
