5 tbsp. bacon drippings 6 tbsp. flour 2 onions, chopped 2 pieces garlic 1 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 lg. can tomatoes 1 can tomato sauce 6 c. water 3 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf 2 lb. shrimp 2 cans crab 1 pkg. frozen okra 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Brown flour in bacon drippings to make roux. Add onions, celery and garlic. Brown 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, sauce, water, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Boil 1 hour over medium heat. Add shrimp, okra and crab. Cook 25 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and serve over steamed rice. |
