1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter. Gradually add and beat until creamy, brown and white sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift and stir in flour, salt and soda. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop the batter from a teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

The best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've come across! I usually double it!
