OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
1 pt. bread crumbs
1 qt. sweet milk
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. jelly of your choice (optional)
2 heaping tbsp. butter
Juice & rind of 1 lemon (or orange)
4 tbsp. powdered sugar

Soak bread crumbs in milk for 1/2 hour. Beat sugar and egg yolks together until light in color. Add to crumb mixture; mix well. Stir in lemon juice and grated rind and butter. Pour into greased pudding dish and bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Whip the egg whites until frothy. Add powdered sugar and beat until very stiff. When pudding is done, top with jelly, then egg whites. Return to oven and brown slightly. Serve warm.
