I was in the middle of baking to realize I had evaporated milk and not condensed! This recipe was a life saver! Has anyone ever used it in a recipe as a sauce that doesn't have to be cooked? Do you think it would be safe with the eggs in it?

PERFECT!! I used this recipe in place of sweetened condensed milk and my muffins came out fantastic! I substituted the 1 cup of sugar with 3/4 cup Agave Nectar.

Thank you so much!! I cook a lot and it does requires the sweetened condensed milk depending on what I am making. I can get it in the store sometimes and when they have it, it is well over $5, so again thank you for the substitute!

Making Magic Cookie Bars, wanted to make two batches, had only one can of sweetened condensed milk, so I made one with the canned and one using this recipe. This was actually a lot better tasting than the store bought, the brown sugar gave a nice tan color to the cookies.
