WATER CHESTNUTS AND BACON | |
2 cans whole water chestnuts 1 lb. bacon 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. ketchup wooden toothpicks Rinse and drain chestnuts. Cut strips of bacon in half. Wrap half strip of bacon around chestnut and fasten with a toothpick. Place in a broiler pan (one that grease can drip through). Bake for 45 minutes at 375°F. Remove from pan and place in an ovenproof serving dish. Combine brown sugar and ketchup and drizzle over chestnuts being careful not to drizzle on toothpicks. Return to oven until sauce is hot and bubbly. Serve warm. |
