DUMPLING RECIPE 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. black pepper
5 tbsp. shortening
Salt to taste
Enough warm water to make a firm dough

Roll dough very thin; cut in squares or 3 or 4 inch strips 1 1/2 inch wide. Drop in broth and stir gently to keep from sticking together. See Chicken and Dumplings Recipe in Main Dish Section.
