CARAMEL PECAN BARS | |
1 box Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix 1/4 c. butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 c. butter 1/4 c. whipping cream Pecans 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. honey Use Jelly roll pan - 350 degree oven. In large bowl, cut 1/4 cup butter into cake mix with fork or pastry blender; mix should have coarse crumbs when finished. Press in bottom of pan and sprinkle with pecans. In large heavy pan, combine the sugars, 1 cup butter and the honey. Bring to full boil and stir constantly. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in whipping cream. Pour over pecan mixture in pan and bake for 17 to 22 minutes until surface is bubbly. Cool completely and cut into bars. Makes 48 bars. |
