APPLESAUCE BARS 
1 c. applesauce
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)

GLAZE:

1/3 c. butter
2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-4 tbsp. hot water

Bring applesauce and raisins to a boil. Remove from heat; add butter and sugar. Blend well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to applesauce mixture. Stir in nuts if desired. Spread in greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool.

GLAZE: Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Blend in confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Add 1 tablespoon hot water at a time until spreading consistency is obtained. Frost cooled bars.
