CARAMEL COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco, butter
2 lb. brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
4 eggs

Mix up at night and keep in refrigerator. Mix sugar, butter, eggs and nuts together in a big pan and stir out all lumps. Add vanilla and salt. Add flour, 1 cup at a time. Add soda and baking powder. Knead like bread dough until all the flour is in. Roll in 2 rolls, lay on board or tray. Put in refrigerator. In morning, slice with sharp knife, thin. Bake at 325 degrees until brown.

This recipe was a favorite of my mother, Mrs. Harry Flasher. She would make these ahead for Christmas and hide them when we were kids.
