ROMAN HOLIDAY CASSEROLE | |
4 c. cheddar cheese 2 c. jalapeno cheese 1 1/2 lb. ground lean beef (or ground turkey meat) 2 med. chopped onions Salt, pepper to taste 3 tbsp. med. picante sauce 1 pkg. dumplings (cook & drain, stir in butter and cover) 1 can mushroom soup 1 sm. can tomato sauce 1 sm. can chopped green chilies Saute onions in 1 teaspoon oil. Add meat and cook until grey in color. Add soup, tomato sauce and chilies. Fold in dumplings and add picante sauce. Place mixture in casserole 3 times, adding cheese between each layer. Place in hot oven until hot to touch and cheese melts. |
