DATE NUT BARS 
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco oil
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. finely cut dates
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift first 4 ingredients. Make a well and add in order oil, egg, vanilla. Beat until smooth, add dates and nuts. Mix well and turn into 12 x 7 x 2 inch pan, greased. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut while warm and dust with confectioners' sugar. Makes 30 bars.
