CARAMEL CHEWS 
28 caramels
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. (3 oz. can) chow mein noodles
1 c. peanuts
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Miniature marshmallows

Melt caramels and butter with 2 tablespoons water in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Pour caramel mixture over combined noodles and peanuts; toss until well coated. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls on to greased cookie sheet. Melt chocolate chips with remaining 2 tablespoons water over low heat, stirring until smooth. Top chews with chocolate mixture and marshmallows; chill until firm. Store in refrigerator. Approximately 3 dozen.

Variations: Substitute 2 cups crisp rice cereal or 3 cups corn flakes for chow mein noodles. Omit marshmallows.
