APPLE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. Crisco oil
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped nuts
3 c. raw tart apples

Beat eggs, add oil, sugar and vanilla. Add flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix well. Add the apples and chopped nuts. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan in preheated 300 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

FROSTING FOR APPLE CAKE:

1 c. light brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk

Combine light brown sugar, butter and milk. Boil for 2 minutes, stir and remove from heat. Poke holes in warm cake with toothpicks. Then pour frosting over warm cake.
