LAYERED LETTUCE SALAD 
1 head of lettuce, cut in sm. pieces
1/2 c. diced celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. shredded carrot
1/2 c. diced green pepper
1 box petite frozen peas
2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise or 1 c. diet mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Bacon bits

Mix mayonnaise and sugar well. Arrange in layers with some lettuce in between. Layer with frozen peas on top layer. Cover with mayonnaise. Add cheese and bacon bits. Refrigerate covered with saran wrap overnight or all day. Keeps for many days.
