BEEFSTEAK PIE WITH POTATO CRUST 
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. round steak
3 tbsp. fat or oil
3 onions, peeled and sliced
3 tbsp. flour
3 med. potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Dash each thyme and garlic
2 c. water

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut meat in cubes or serving size pieces. Coat with flour. Cook meat in fat until browned. Cook onion until transparent. Put meat and onions in 2 to 3 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with flour and seasonings; pour water over top. Bake covered for 45 to 60 minutes until meat is tender. Turn oven to 450 degrees. Place sliced potatoes on top of meat sprinkle with salt and paprika. Bake uncovered 30 minutes until potatoes are browned and tender.
