BASIC STUFFING RECIPE 
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 tsp. pepper
16-18 slices bread (toasted)
1 1/2 tbsp. chopped parsley
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. poultry seasoning
1 1/2 c. hot water

Melt shortening in skillet; add onions and celery and saute over low heat for 15 minutes.

Pour mixture over bread cubes, which have been mixed with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and parsley. Add hot water and mix well.
