3/4 lb. butter (1 1/2 c.)
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Jelly
1 egg white
1/2 c. walnut pieces (optional)

Cream together butter and sugar. Add flour, yolks, baking powder and vanilla. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonful on well greased cookie sheet. Make thumbprint in center of each cookie and put jelly in these depressions. If desired, add walnut bits on the cookies. Brush all the cookies with egg white. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until brown.
