CINCINNATI CHILI | |
1 1/2 lbs. very lean ground beef 3 c. water 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 3 tbsp. chili powder 2 tbsp. vinegar 24 allspice balls and 8 cloves in spice bag 1 tbsp. cumin Red pepper flakes Salt and pepper to taste 1 lb. cooked spaghetti Grated Cheddar cheese Dissolve tomato paste in water in large heavy pot. Add vinegar and meat. Do NOT brown meat first. Break up meat into fine pieces. Add spices and spice bag with allspice and cloves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours covered. Can be made in a crock pot also. Serve with spaghetti, sprinkle with cheese. Believe it or not, this is really good! |
