SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE 
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
Pinch of red pepper
2 tbsp. bacon drippings
5 c. coarsely chopped cabbage
1 med. onion, coarsely chopped
1 tsp. salt
Dash of ground nutmeg

Combine vinegar, sugar, and red pepper; set aside. Heat bacon drippings in a large skillet over medium heat. Add cabbage, onion, salt, and nutmeg. Cook for 5 minutes. Add vinegar mixture. Simmer 1 or 2 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
