1/2 stick butter
6 tbsp. white sugar
1 scant tbsp. cinnamon
8 slices white bread

Melt butter with sugar and cinnamon. Cook gently while toasting bread on 1 side only in broiler. Spread untoasted side of bread with sugar mixture and place under medium hot broiler until sugar is crusty and bubbly. It's very hot. Be careful. Another way to make cinnamon toast is to make toast in toaster. Spread immediately with butter. Shake a spoonful of cinnamon sugar (2 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon) over the buttered toast.
