1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cream
2 or 3 tbsp. vinegar (to taste)

Mix and pour over lettuce, cabbage, or cucumbers. (For cucumber, sprinkle with salt. Cover and let stand in refrigerator overnight. Drain well. Pour dressing over cucumbers. Add a little onion, if you wish.)
