3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, then sour cream. Add vanilla and baking powder. Mix in flour. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly and frost.

Frosting: Bring to boil 1/2 cup sugar and 5 tablespoons butter, stirring constantly. Add 1/4 cup milk and cook for 3 minutes. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix in powdered sugar until spreading consistency. If it gets too thick, add a little milk. Frosting should be of medium consistency.
