BUTTER RUM CAKE 
1 box butter cake mix
6 oz. serving size instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1/2 tsp. rum flavoring

Mix all ingredients well and pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool. While cake is still in pan, pour syrup over it. Let it set in pan for 30 minutes after pouring syrup over it.

BUTTER RUM SYRUP:

1 stick butter
1/3 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. rum flavoring

Put all ingredients except flavoring in pan. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar is dissolved and butter melted. Add flavoring.
