3 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Thick flour and milk, stirring frequently; cool. Mix sugar, shortening and butter. Cream well. Add cooled flour mixture, a little at a time. Add vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
