PUFF PASTRY 
STEP 1 (CRUST) :

1 stick butter
1 c. flour
2-3 tbsp. cold water

Mix together. Cut into 2 balls. Press into 2 rectangles on 12x3 inch sheet pan. Set aside.

STEP 2 (FILLING) : :

1 c. water
1 c. flour
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat and quickly add flour; stir until mixture leaves the side of the pan. Place back on heat and add eggs and vanilla, stirring again until mixture leaves the side of the pan. Spread on crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

STEP 3 (GLAZE) :

2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix thoroughly and brush on top, after pastry has cooled. Add almonds, walnuts, etc. for garnish. Slice into strips. Cupcake papers are attractive for serving.
