SAUSAGE AND APPLES 
2 lg. tart apples
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. long grain raw rice
2 c. cold water
1 pkg. best quality link sausage
1/4 c. ketchup

Core and slice apples but do not peel. Cover bottom of 2 quart casserole with apples. Cover apples with brown sugar. Cover apples and sugar with rice. Pour more boiling water over sausages and let stand for 3 minutes. Drain. Arrange sausages close together on rice. Frost with ketchup and refrigerate. When ready, bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
