GRANDMOTHER CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sour milk
2 2/3 c. flour, right from bag
1/2 c. butter (salt if shortening is used)
2 eggs
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (your choice)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cream
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring
Confectioners sugar to right consistency

Makes 2 large layers. Mix with spoon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
