APPLE CRUMB PIE 
4 lg. tart apples (I use Granny Smith)
1 plain pastry
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. self rising flour
1/3 c. butter

Pare apples, cut up and arrange in a 9" pastry lined pie pan. Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Sift 1/2 cup sugar and flour together. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake in hot oven at 400 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
