RED CINNAMON PICKLES | |
Peel, core, and slice 5 pounds cucumbers in 1 inch slices. Soak overnight in 1 gallon water and 1 cup lime. Wash 3 times in clean water. Soak in ice water 3 hours. Mix 1 gallon white vinegar, 7 cups sugar, 9 ounce package red hots, 1 1/2 ounce red food coloring, and mixed spices tied in a cheese cloth bag. Simmer cucumbers in this mixture 2 hours. Pack in pint Jars. Seal and process in water bath 10 minutes. |
