FORGET-THE-JAR SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste 1 tbsp. minced onion 1 tbsp. garlic 1 tbsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. basil 1 tsp. salt 1 bay leaf Soak minced onion in 1/3 cup of water. In a medium saucepan combine tomato paste and 1 1/2 cans of water. Over low heat, blend until smooth. Add garlic, oregano, basil and salt (for best results, add one ingredients at a time and blend thoroughly before adding the next). Drain minced onion, and stir into sauce. Cover, simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use sauce as usual. |
