CHEWY OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter flavor shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs

Sift together and stir in 1 3/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir in 2 cups rolled oats, 1 cup cooked raisins and 1/2 cup nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned. Temperature: 400 degrees. Time: 8-10 minutes. About 5 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.
