SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. heavy cream (whipping cream)
1/1/2 tbsp. vinegar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together dry ingredients. Blend vinegar with cream to sour the cream. Combine the soured cream, eggs and vanilla. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour into 9 inch round or square cake pan that has been greased and sprinkle with flour. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Makes single layer cake. Cool and spread with icing.

ICING:

To make chocolate icing or just butter cream icing, combine these ingredients:

2 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa, sifted
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. milk or cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Blend ingredients until smooth and spread over cooled cake.
