ORANGE DATE NUT BREAD | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1/2 c. chopped dates 1 tbsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. grated orange rind 1 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 egg 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1/4 c. orange juice Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar, pecans, dates, baking powder, orange rind and salt together in large bowl; set aside. Beat milk, egg, oil and orange juice together in small bowl. Stir by hand into reserved flour mixture until flour is just moistened. Grease 1 (9"x5"x3") loaf pan. Turn batter into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool on rack. Makes 1 (9"x5"x3") loaf. |
