3 1/2 c. flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Walnut halves (optional)

Sift together flour, salt and soda. Cream butter and brown sugar well. Add eggs and beat well. Blend in vanilla and add dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Mold or drop dough into balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10- 12 minutes. Cool and frost with powdered sugar frosting (any flavor) and top with walnut half.
