LENTIL SOUP 
1 lb. lentils
1 med. onion
1/2 stalk celery
1 bell pepper
2 lg. potatoes
5 carrots
1/4 lb. bacon
Ham to suit
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
5 oz. chicken broth
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. comino
1 tbsp. salt
3/4 qt. water

Soak lentils 2 hours. Dice all vegetables, bacon and ham. Cook bacon until crisp. Add all vegetables, ham, spices, chicken broth and cook 3 minutes. Add tomato sauce and bring to boil. Add water and lentils, cook 45 minutes. Makes over a gallon.
