2 c. Karo, blue label 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking to 260 degrees or until mixture forms hard ball tested in cold water. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda and vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy. Pour into buttered pan until cool enough to handle. When cool, tear pieces and pull until it has satin-like finish and is light in color. Cut 1/2 inch strips and then 1 inch pieces and wrap in wax paper. For color, a couple of drops of food coloring may be added. |
