LETTUCE AND ONIONS 
Leaf lettuce
Spring onions

DRESSING:

1/4 c. butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar

Chop lettuce and onions to fill salad bowl. In pan melt butter. Mix egg, vinegar, water and sugar together. Beat and pour into butter. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Pour over lettuce and onions and toss lightly.
