APPLESAUCE PUMPKIN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. canned applesauce
1 c. mashed pumpkin
1/2 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 c. apple juice
1 c. nuts, chopped
3 1/3 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Combine together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Stir in applesauce and pumpkin. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with apple juice. Stir in nuts. Turn batter into 2 greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
