BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
6 qt. cucumber slices
1 qt. sliced onions
9 c. water
1 c. salt
6 c. sugar
6 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. turmeric
1 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. celery seeds
Canning jars & seals

Combine cucumbers and onions in 9 cups water and 1 cup salt. Let the mixture stand for 3 hours. Make a syrup of sugar, vinegar, turmeric and seeds in a large kettle. Drain liquid from vegetables. Add vegetables to syrup in kettle and simmer just until heated through. Ladle into canning jars and seal at once.
