FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. shelled Brazil nuts, whole
1 c. maraschino cherries, drained
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. pitted dates
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Place nuts, cherries and dates in large bowl. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt over fruit and nuts; mix to coat. Beat eggs well and add vanilla. Stir into mixture in bowl. Turn into greased, wax paper lined loaf pan. Batter will look lumpy. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Cool and then refrigerate for 1 month.
