VALENTINE COOKIES 
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground mace
2/3 cup dark molasses

In bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients and molasses; mix well. Chill 2 hours. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Using 3-inch cookie cutter (heart shaped), cut out cookies. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
