HUNGARIAN CHEESE PIE (MAGYAR
SAJTOS TORTA)
 
4 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. cold milk
1/2 c. sour cream
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp. sugar

FILLING:

1 1/2 lb. smearcase - ricotta cheese
2 eggs, separated, whites beaten stiff
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
Chopped dill (optional)

Rub butter and flour together then add sour cream, egg yolks, milk, and sugar together. Mix with large spoon. Cool for 1/2 hour. Roll on out floured board about 1/4 inch thick. Line baking pan 8 x 13 pan. Leave some dough for a lattice top.

Put filling over dough, then cover with lattice dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until brown and cheese solid.
