BARBECUED BRISKET OF BEEF 
4 or 5 lb. fresh beef brisket
1/2 c. catsup
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. mixed spices with bay leaf, finely chopped

Pat meat dry with paper towel, place in flat baking dish. Spread catsup over top and sides of meat. Sprinkle with seasonings. Bake, tightly covered at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes per pound. Serves 6 to 8.
