APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. whole wheat pastry flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter, room temp.
1/2 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 c. smooth, thick applesauce
2 eggs
1 c. quick-cooking oats
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. raisins (plumped, optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9x5 inch loaf pan. Sift together first 6 ingredients; set aside.

Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl. Thoroughly beat in applesauce and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients and blend well. Stir in oats, nuts and raisins.

Turn into prepared pan. Bake until bread is golden brown and tests done, about 55 to 60 minutes. Cool slightly in pan, then remove and let cool completely on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
