GREEK ALMOND COFFEE CAKE 
4 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. melted sweet butter
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 c. ground almonds

Blend yolks, sugar and vanilla, adding warmed butter until thick. In another bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff. fold yolk mixture into the whites.

Sift flour and baking powder and fold in. Add nuts last. Pour into greased tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
